2 Election Night Parties

POP Streamers,

Election Night is less than a week away!! Get excited for these events you don't want to miss! Below are two election night parties I encourage you to attend if you don't already have plans for Tuesday, Nov 4th. I will be escorting any interested residents to the Wagner event at 9pm but you can attend whichever you'd like! Please reply to me to let me know you are interested in attending. Thanks.

6:00pm to 10:00pm

Come celebrate our democracy on election night with your fellow students, faculty and community members for what will be a memorable night in our nation's history!

The evening will showcase continuous live coverage of the election results on two jumbo screens, two live bands, Anna Jack -- Hula Hoop Extraordinaire, food from the highly contested battleground states and door prizes. It will be a night to remember!

Election Night Live -Watching Party

When: The one-and only Election day, Tuesday, November 4th from 7pm
and on into the night.
Where: Puck Building, 2nd Floor

Bring your family, friends, and classmates to join the Wagner community in following every vote counted, colored map projection, and political commentator speculation that election night has to offer. Puck will be the hottest NYC spot to be at with free food and drinks, raffles, trivia, TV galore, on-the-spot nationwide blogging, and more.

FEEL FREE TO STOP BY ANYTIME THROUGHOUT THE EVENING. Doors open at 7 pm; things really rolling at 8 pm. We expect to keep going until at least 12 midnight (or, until the pundits or the Electoral College call it).

We will meet in the 2nd Floor Goddard classroom. Come with your thoughts and expectation for the debate. Refreshments will be served and you are welcomed to bring guests!

LIFE AFTER BUSH

On Saturday, October 25th at 7pm, POP is headed to the HERE theater to see LIFE AFTER BUSH! Sign-up sheet is on the POP all with only a few spots left for FREE TICKETS. After the first 10 spots, you will have to purchase your own ticket (speak to me about how to do this if you're interested) ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US!

The political blog and theatre company NERO FIDDLED returns, with the final chapter in the trilogy which began with Burning Bush: A Faith-Based Musical and continued with Moral Value Meal. Jeffrey Sachs--twice named one of the "100 most influential people in theworld" by Time Magazine--will be at NYU on Wednesday, October 8, to bringtogether issues of politics, culture, global health, economics, andsustainable development as he assesses the current trajectory of globaleconomic problems and presents possible solutions for the future. Dr. Sachsis currently Director of the Earth Institute, Quetelet Professor ofSustainable Development, and a Professor of Health Policy and Management atColumbia University. Additionally, he serves as Special Advisor to UnitedNations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon. From 2002 to 2006, he was theDirector of the United Nations Millennium Project and has dedicated much ofhis professional career to the alleviation of extreme poverty and thedevelopment of environmental sustainability. He has authored two New YorkTimes bestsellers: The End of Poverty and Common Wealth.
